Each year, NASSP and MetLife co-sponsor awards for the National Middle Level Principal of the Year and National High School Principal of the Year. In conjunction with these awards, OASSA and MetLife sponsor an Ohio Middle Level Principal of the Year Award and an Ohio High School Principal of the Year Award. Applications are available from the OASSA office or the NASSP web page. Applications are to be returned to the OASSA office by the published deadline, and state winners are chosen by a panel of judges representing members of the educational community.

VIRCO, Inc., the nation's leading manufacturer of K-12 school furniture joins NASSP and the state associations to co-sponsor the Assistant Principal of the Year competition. Applications are available on-line from NASSP or by calling the OASSA office. As with the Principals of the Year awards, an Ohio Assistant Principal of the Years is chosen by a panel of judges and entered in the national competition.
Ohio's winners are guests of OASSA at
the annual Assistant Principals Conference held in Columbus and
receive a $1,000 cash prize from McDonald's and a signet ring
from the Herff-Jones Company.
