DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION: SUMMIT EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER

JOB OPENING INFORMATION:  

Position:  Director of Curriculum and Instruction

District:  Summit Educational Service Center

Salary:  Salary schedule placement commensurate with experience and training

Deadline:  June 26, 2018

Qualifications:  • Administrative or supervisory license or certificate in the State of Ohio
• Two or more years of experience as ESC, district, or building level administration or supervision
• Successful completion of required pre-employment screenings
• Other qualifications the Board may find acceptable


POSITION MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide information and training to ESC staff and/or districts related to current state initiatives and mandates in the areas of curriculum and instruction including assessment OTES, OPES, eTPES, Resident Educator, State Report Card and other ODE initiatives
• Work collaboratively with the Director of Professional Development and other department heads to develop, promote, and organize professional development activities and programming for the benefit of the ESC and our affiliated districts and organizations
• Assist in hiring, coordination, and supervision of curriculum consultants and content area specialists
• Demonstrate outstanding knowledge of current best educational practices in:
- curriculum instruction, student learning, and assessment
- application of technology in the classroom for instruction, and assessment
- differentiated instruction
- personalized learning, deeper learning, project based learning, etc.
- one or more content/subject areas
• Provide client districts with up-to-date information and guidance in the area of Career Technical Education including middle grades programming
• Assist districts with College Credit Plus, credit flex, and similar programs
• Assist districts with college and career readiness
• Ability to assist districts with data collection and interpretation and how it may apply to teaching and learning
• Assist districts with CCIP navigation and development
• Assist as needed with grant writing and management
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills applicable to a variety of audiences including teachers, administrators, parents, and students
• Assist in growth and development in leadership skills for students, teachers and administrators
• Other skills and experiences that candidates may have to meet the needs of the ESC and our client districts and LEAs
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the superintendent
