OASSA invites current and former superintendents along with staff from the Buckeye Association of School Administrators and the Ohio School Boards Association to offer advice to those who aspire to become school superintendents. Speakers will address the responsibilities of the position, how the job is changing, keys to interviewing, working with your Board of Education, negotiating contracts, and understanding local politics and power structures. A panel discussion with current superintendents allows for audience interaction.

We encourage all “new” administrators to attend the December Beginning Administrators Academy. The two-day session is designed to address the challenges and issues that confront administrators during their initial assignments. The December session will build upon the topics presented and discussed at the September session. Tips for interviewing will be presented and motivational speaker, Bruce Boguski will close the Academy with “Empowerment Through Teamwork.” If you have new administrators in your district, please encourage them to enroll and attend!
