Salary: WORK SCHEDULE: 230 Days

Qualifications:
CERTIFICATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Masters Degree and preferably work in excess of this level related to research-based instructional strategies and/or effective pedagogical practices to meet the needs of all learners
2. Evidence of 3-5 years of successful administrative or supervisory experience
3. Successful and in depth experience in the broad area of Special Education
4. Valid Ohio Administrative Licensure

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possesses qualities of leadership that demonstrate ability to administer and organize, using good judgment and sound rationale
2. Possesses the ability to isolate issues and develop rational solutions to problems
3. Is well informed on national developments and trends and is able to communicate them to the staff

6. Has the ability to ease concerns of parents whose children are experiencing difficulty
7. Exhibit knowledge and in depth understanding of special education law

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Ohio Department of Education Licenses in Supervision & Special Education/Building Principal
• Preferred candidate will have a minimum 5 years effective teaching in special education
• Demonstrated knowledge of special education law, IDEA, Model Policies and No Child Left Behind mandates
• Knowledge of assessment as it impacts special education, including Ohio's Alternate Assessment for Students
• Ability to establish and maintain a critical organizational plan
• Knowledge of K-12 curriculum and ability to work with building special education staff
• Knowledge of OIP and RTI processes and effective co-teaching models.
