About Licking Heights Local Schools
Licking Heights Local Schools, organized in 1956, encompasses 37 square miles approximately 20 minutes east of Columbus. Though it seems like a small community in a semi-rural environment, recent economic development has made Licking Heights one of the four fastest growing school districts in Ohio. Our total district enrollment is 4,400 and growing; our total students have more than doubled since 2003 when the current high school building opened.
With a diverse student population speaking more than 30 languages, the district focuses on student learning and achievement while looking toward the future as it continues to be recognized as a leader in innovative best practice.
The diversity in our business development echoes the diversity in our schools. Most recently, companies like Facebook and American Electric Power (AEP) Ohio have opened expanded operational facilities within the district, bringing jobs to our local community and exploration opportunities for our students.
