Greenfield Exempted Village Schools Superintendent Search 

Greenfield Village Schools, an award winning district located in the rolling hills of south central Ohio, is conducting a search for its new Superintendent of schools. The district is comprised of 3 elementary schools, 1 Middle School and the historic Edward McClain High School. McClain High School is rich in history and tradition. The school was donated to the town of Greenfield by innovator Edward Lee McClain in 1915. McClain High School is known for its marble staircases, beautiful sculptures, and paintings and murals that adorn every wall. McClain was also the first school in Ohio to have an indoor swimming pool.

Greenfield (GEYS) Superintendent Timeline:

February 1, 2019: Announce and post opening

February 1 - March 1: Candidate recruitment and resumes accepted

March 1 - March 7: Candidate Screening 

March 7 - March 20: First Round Interviews 

March 20 - March 31: Final Interview

April 1 - April 7:  Announcement of the Superintendent 

August 1: Start Date for new Superintendent

Superintendent Qualifications:

□ Excellent planning and organizational skills

□ Educational Leader with a strong background in academic achievement

□ Communicator with the interpersonal skills to work and lead collaboratively with Board Members, Administrators, Staff, Students and the Community.

□ Visionary skills to produce both short and long term plans for all aspects of the district improvement.

□ Ability to unite all groups involved in plans

□ Willingness to become an active and contributing member of the school community and Greenfield community.

Superintendent Requirements:

□ Current Ohio Superintendent License

□ Previous Experience desired, but not required

□ 260 work days

□ Wage and salary is negotiable based on level of past experience

□ Superintendent will move and live in the District
